In our part of the world, cherry blossom absolutely symbolises spring. For the first sunny days, warmer temperatures and wonderfully delicate, rosy colours after months of dreariness and grey-in-grey. It beautifully adorns the trees, enchants avenues and lures walkers outside. Nevertheless, it is fleeting and the flowering period is over again after a few days.
Not so with this glass version for the Christmas tree, because these cherry blossoms never fade and bring a touch of warmth and spring even in the dark of December. There are three of them in total, two larger and one smaller, which stretch out towards the viewer on the front of the figurine. Their whitish-pink, matt varnish shimmers with varying intensity. A pink-coloured pistil with a green, partly glittering border is emblazoned in the centre, while the stamens have been artfully indicated on the petals with yellow dots and white lines. Light green, shimmering first leaves with green glitter in the centre surround the magnificent flowers. A matt brown, vertical branch skilfully holds the ensemble together in the background.
