The biggest difference between an ordinary muffin and a cupcake is probably best described by this magnificent Christmas tree figure: A cupcake is characterised by its (now usually eye-catching) cream decoration on the actual cake batter.
In the case of this magnificent piece - we have named it chocolate pistachio because of its green-brown colouring - the elaborate topping comes in several layers: while the pleated mould at the base still shimmers in an almost subtle golden brown, a shimmering, wide green rim already pours over it. The next level shines like chocolate brown, interrupted by a matt green and topped by another. A truffle-like ball is then pearled in gold on top. Sugar icing-like loops and green glitter dots complete the lavish picture.
