We have long since learnt that monkeys have no place in the circus. Nevertheless, these cute little animals with their human-like physique tend to look simply adorable, especially in a tailor-made tailcoat. As a decorative glass figurine in a nostalgic, colourful fairground design, they can still warm the heart.
Just like this cute little circus monkey, which is perched on a kind of hurdy-gurdy as in old depictions and holds two shiny golden cymbals in its hands in a musically cheeky manner. The fur is a magnificent chocolate brown with lighter patches on the friendly face, belly, hands and feet with a shiny porcelain-like surface. The fiery red colour of the aforementioned tailcoat with its golden stitching provides a wonderful contrast, as does the white, elaborately glittered jabot collar. A brightly striped, oriental-inspired hat on the head with a pompom wonderfully picks up on the many colours of the turquoise-trimmed box, which not only shines green, red and purple, but also features green and orange dots as well as golden contours.
