Christmas bauble:  Curling stone

Curling is one of the most fascinating and, at the same time, most unconventional winter sports of all. Originally developed in 16th-century Scotland, “ice stock shooting with brooms” has long since evolved into an Olympic discipline that attracts attention especially every four years at the Winter Games. The process has an almost meditative quality: Heavy granite stones glide across the ice, while teammates frantically sweep the ice in front of the stone to influence its path. This blend of precision, tactics, and teamwork has earned the sport loyal fans around the world, especially in countries like Canada and Scotland, where curling enjoys near-national-sport status. The distinctive stone, with its side handle, has become the unmistakable symbol of this sport.

The figurine depicts a highly detailed curling stone with a round, stocky body in dark anthracite and an iridescent brushed pattern. The characteristic handle is featured in red and white on the top, bordered by a glittering band in silver-gray.
