The look on this glass version of the Christmas tree is particularly heartbreaking. Even though the seal is perched on the mound of sea, sand and ice floes in a rather sea lion-like manner, its face has been painted so lovingly and with such cute bevelled eyes that the heart of any North Sea or Baltic Sea fan is bound to beat faster. But it's not just the head, the entire colouring is also deeply impressive, as it was sprayed on using the airbrush technique and shimmers between silver-grey and brown on the seal's body. The base also features a skilful mixture of ice blue and cream, interspersed with shiny silver stripes. Fine grey-brown glitter lines on the flippers also suggest curved claws and provide sparkling highlights.
