They are sweet, exude Mediterranean flair and come in very different colours depending on the variety: We are, of course, talking about figs, the popular fruits, which are in fact only pseudo-fruits, as they do not develop from the flowers, but from an inwardly curved inflorescence that merely thickens into a fleshy shape.
Sounds complicated? But it is delicious and - at least as a glass figurine for the Christmas tree - also extremely decorative. Light green in colour with a delicate, brownish shimmer at the edge of the burst side, the bulbous, lute-like delicacy shimmers elegantly and matt. Applied with a careful brushstroke, brown vertical lines decorate the outer shell. And inside? It glows an almost dramatic red colour! Because to make the juicy flesh look particularly realistic, lots of translucent red beads and transparent glitter flakes have been applied here, providing a real kick of freshness.
