The ginkgo is a tree species native to China, but is now found all over the world. The most outstanding feature of the gingko is the fan-shaped leaf, which has now made it into a Christmas tree figure.
The gingko is considered a special tree because (according to its biological classification) it is neither a deciduous tree nor a conifer, but forms a group of its own. But these are probably more details for biologists. The average user will be delighted to discover a gingko leaf here and there in a park in the fall.
The leaf captivates with its autumnal red-brown coloring, which fades into green towards the stem. The leaf is streaked with fine, glittering veins and a little hoarfrost seems to have settled on the tips. The stem is kinked and slightly echoes the semicircular shape of the leaf.
