Christmas bauble:  Lighthouse

They are regarded as landmarks of coastal regions and can often be seen from afar, not only on the water but also on land: Lighthouses, the indispensable cornerstones of nautical navigation to this day. For decades, often centuries, they have characterised the landscape with their sometimes so unique design that many of them have even been placed under a preservation order.

This lighthouse for the maritime Christmas tree also looks very much like one. With its red, white and black colouring, it is somewhat reminiscent of the famous tower at Westerheversand on the Schleswig-Holstein peninsula of Eiderstedt. It is round like a cone and has thick, striking block stripes. The roof superstructures with the shimmering golden-brown window wreath for the light signals gleam in elegant black, the folds of which are additionally decorated with glittering black contours. The few other windows in the tower were also painted with precise brushstrokes and framed in glittering black. Particularly fitting: the thin plinth, which forms the base of the building and was dusted with festive glitter from below, shimmers matt in a light marsh meadow green.
