Christmas bauble:  Moulin Rouge

Even though its name translates as "red mill", the Moulin Rouge is so much more ... Variety theatre in Paris, cult site, theatre, place of longing, meeting place, holiday destination, memory. And with its marvellous and unusual roof design, it is also a windmill.

It also shimmers rust-red as a glass figure for the Christmas tree with a silver-grey, conical roof, gleaming sky-blue windows framed with gold glitter. The conical tower with the rectangular, single-storey entrance area was designed just as lovingly as the arched roof above the entrance door or the advertising posters on both sides of the shop windows with the insinuated lettering in blue, red and yellow on a white background. Above this, the obligatory lettering in white glitter to match the blue and white glittering, wintery snow cushions applied here and there: Moulin Rouge, of course. And what should not be missing, of course? The mill wings, which have been cut out of thin plastic film and mounted on the front, light and transparent and screened with rust-coloured glitter. Ingenious!
