Who doesn't know them - the lovingly designed and (visually and flavourfully) incredibly sweet mini tarts that turn every patisserie counter into a small art exhibition? Originating from France, they have long been available in all colours and shapes: Petits fours, literally translated as "little ovens".
This petit four for the Christmas tree is small and baked with particular passion. The round biscuit bases shimmer in a cream-coloured champagne hue, light green hints at a pistachio filling and the top layer is painted matt white as if covered in thick icing. Extremely artificial: the glittered, red and purple-coloured berries on top, whose little green leaves create a wonderfully fresh contrast.
