Christmas bauble:  Poisonous journeyman

It's a paradox: we know from an early age - hands off, this mushroom is poisonous! And yet we are always enchanted when we see it; in the forest, in picture books, as decoration, in numerous forms and yet always strikingly the same with a white stem and white spotted, red cap.

Because it is so pretty: the fly agaric, which has become a symbol of happiness despite its inedibility. No wonder. This specimen is also simply pretty, cute and chic. The light, matt stem is knobbly this time, a fine champagne-colored ring of lamellae forms the transition to the cap, which is long and curved like a morel. Incidentally, the dots on the matt red head have been applied irregularly in this version, giving the figure a naturalistic touch.
