Colourful, kitschy, shrill and beautiful: yes, the rocking horse doesn't just look a bit overloaded - it actually is ... But that's precisely what makes it so wonderfully endearing, alongside its slightly strained look. As if all the presents had been unloaded onto the mount, it swings merrily on its shiny brown runners decorated with golden contours.
The horse's body is a matt Haflinger brown colour, the mane, tail and halter a little darker. The saddle, also edged in gold, is a festive red colour. And the presents we were just talking about? They are piled up everywhere: on the back, between the legs, in front, behind, on the sides, above and below. They are colourful, pink, blue, golden yellow and red, very plain, dotted and decorated with wide glittered parcel ribbons. There's even a fir tree, also glittering and safely stowed away on the runners.
