Here it is: the Rollmops Christmas tree ornament. Perhaps a little bigger and more plentiful than fresh from the fishmonger round the corner. But virtually odourless (at least in the long term) and truly festively decorated:
With its artistic, iridescent airbrush finish, the herring is wonderfully realistic with shiny, scaly fish skin. All kinds of delicacies can be glimpsed on the sides of the typical roll: A little green, a little yellow, but also rectangular, carrot-orange decorations clearly reveal that much more than just onions and cucumber have been wrapped up here. Next to the matt, wood-brown lacquered wooden stick that holds the maritime delicacy together is a decorative sprig of green dill, traced with a delicate brushstroke. And as if the delicacy had come straight from the iced display, the top and sides of the rollmops have been cleverly dusted with transparent glitter flakes.
