Christmas bauble:  Storm lantern

These kerosene lamps have been manufactured in an almost unchanged design since the 19th century. For many, the term "Feuerhand" is a fixed term for these lanterns. But did you know that this was also the name of the company that made these lamps? Incidentally, the name "Feuerhand" does not refer to the fact that you had fire in your hand, but that the lamps were the first in Germany to be hot-dip galvanized.

Nowadays, we see these lanterns almost everywhere: when camping, at the scouts' campfire or simply in the allotment garden for cozy lighting. And maybe soon in your Christmas tree too!

The lamp is very delicate. The metal parts of the lamp are red. The ventilation slits are indicated by a glittering ribbon. And of course you can also see the silver handle and the crossed wires on the lampshade, which protect the glass. If only this Christmas bauble were as robust as the original.
