Yes, the Roman god of wine would have been delighted with this magnificent figure. Extremely skilfully designed, the barrel presents itself from its most playful and opulent side. The bulbous body, which is held by shiny golden straps, curves in a dark, wooden brown colour. Realistic details such as the tap and the storage racks at the base have been considered with just as much attention to detail as the climbing vines, which surround the elegant container from front to back, full of leaves and grapes.
The fresh green colour contrasts beautifully with the Bordeaux hue of the fruit. Golden contours refine and decorate at the same time. A half-full wine glass on the front left hints at tasty enjoyment.
