The inside-out roll is the name of this artistic and decorative sushi shape, which not only delights Asian fans, as the ura maki version is not only delicious, but also a little beauty with its various ingredients. Especially as a glass, artificially designed ornament for the Christmas tree.
The rolled, cylindrical body, the frame of the luxurious morsel, is matt white in colour, just like real, cooked rice. Fine dark green stripes bear witness to the wrapped seaweed. Pieces of greenish-yellow vegetables hint at an avocado filling. The pale salmon colour is also evidence of cooked prawn meat. A deep red triangle is reminiscent of high-quality tuna fillet. And the shiny orange balls on top? That is of course the masago, orange-coloured roe of the capelin.
