Even though it can certainly be found in every household, this classic is still a rarity on the Christmas tree. As beautiful as the salt shaker looks, its appearance as a Christmas decoration is rare and unusual - even though it is sure to adorn many a festive table (but then certainly not as a decoration, but "in real life", i.e. for use).
Like its alter ego, the salt shaker for the Christmas tree is a salt mill. The silver lacquered head, or rather knob, is as round as an onion, under which the transparent glass cylinder follows in a curved shape. Filled with white mica granules and a silver rod as a grinding mechanism, it looks deceptively real. The silver base, decorated with glittering piping, adds the finishing touch to this wonderful utensil in the truest sense of the word.
