What a party! On New Year's Eve, it's supposed to bring good luck - or a windfall for the New Year. It looks just as splendid at Christmas: the carp. Big, mighty and so long that it clearly needs more than an ordinary plate.
The fish platter for the Christmas tree therefore brings it to the fir branch in an elongated, magnificent shape, complete with delicious garnish. Glistening festive red and edged in gold, the underside attracts the first curious glances, while the top, or rather the front, is a real feast for the eyes. The thick fish sits enthroned on a hearty, matt dark green bed of spinach, shimmering softly in brown-grey under a layer of icy white glitter dust. Matt black, thick balls on one side are reminiscent of juniper berries. Two yellow pieces of lemon on the other provide fresh flavour, as do the shiny wasabi green dill sprinkles, the topping on the exquisite fish.
